50. The Art of Presenting 3 – Cathy Monetti.

Continuing our series on presenting, Cathy Monetti graciously gave her thoughts on the topic. Currently she serves as President and Creative Director of RIGGS, an integrated marketing, advertising and public relations firm headquartered in Columbia, South Carolina. She is also co-founder of the national CreateAthon network, a small agency partnership that has donated more than $7 million in marketing and advertising services to nonprofits in North America in the past six years. I met Cathy awhile back and know we're lucky to have her expertise on the subject. Enjoy.

This is great Jason. I don't know where or how you are getting these, but they should really help sell our work better.

Thanks. & Thanks Cathy.

Mike.

I'm learning as much as you all are - you can never be a good enough presenter; and it seems to greatly determine the success ratio of good work actually getting out the door.

OK. So good work makes it easier to present, but how do you present bad work, do you ever have to present bad work?

One of the things that I was so thrown by was when she said that being a great presenter is more important than creative talent. I keep forgetting how much we need to know in order to really get good work out the door. I don't have any expererience yet with clients, so this stuff really helps me get an idea about what to expect.
